Road Trip and protected species

This weekend I went on the local version of a road trip, which equates to driving around the Island. The day began in a bright sunny fashion and ended in a downpour, not unusually for this time of the year.

We did however get to see endangered species the Hono or the Hawaiian green sea turtle, called so because their adipose (fat) tissue is green. In the video below you can see one swimming in the water near the shore.

We also saw a Hawaiian monk seal according to the volunteer she was pregnant. She hardly moved just enough to keep her snout out of the water

It was a great day not be at work weather is raining or not here are some picts from Kawela Bay
