First Friday and the 5D MKII

This weekend I wanted to test my new 5D MKII in nighttime situations. Once a month on the First Friday of each month there is an art festival in Chinatown from 6pm to 9pm. My goal besides getting out of the house was to go out photograph with no flash to see the quality of what I got out of my new canon. I must say I had a blast and was quite pleased with the quality of the photos.

To start with check out this little video of a display that was projected on to another bldg. Yes I did hand hold the camera to test the video function, but I didn't want to carry my heavy tripod with me. The quality was excellent!

Below is the owner of Charlie's Native Enterprises and Shell lei's and some of his amazing work. These photos are straight out of the camera just resized for uploading to the web.

Lastly here is a shot of the Hawaii Theater, it is so nice since they have refurbished it.

Final verdict Charlies photos were taken at ISO 5000 when enlarged to 300% there is very little chromatic and luminance noise. Hooray especially for when the full moon arises.

Aloha Kris
